It was a COLD day for a winter engagement session at Myrick Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin. However, Cheyenne and Brandon faced the cold with a passion and LOVE for one another. The pair was so cuddly on their own; they made my job very easy. They even let me push it a little far with the cold at the end of the session. We were out on the frozen marsh, and I knew this vantage point was only accessible in the winter. Therefore, I wanted their gallery to take full advantage of that!
Before the session, I grabbed some wintery floral stems from my local florist, Viroqua Floral Mercantile. I always try to do a few engagement ring shots as part of the session. However, I knew that blooms and other foliage would be lacking during the dead of winter. Thank goodness for the pop of color and texture of the stems I snagged at the florist.
Winter Engagement Session Tips:
Cheyenne and Brandon took my winter engagement session tips to heart by utilizing warm layers (no coats) that were textured. Knit sweaters are a great option. They stuck to solid colors in their outfits, free of bold or noisy prints. I also love how Cheyenne paired her jeans with brown leather booties. While I worked on their ring shots, I had the couple warm up in the car.
