Heidi and Kelly met while playing collegiate basketball and their relationship was a slam dunk. Their mutual love for craft beer, wineries, and adventures is what prompted them to choose a rustic and fun location such as Pedretti’s Party Barn located at Vernon Vineyards in Viroqua, Wisconsin to go for Rustic Barn Winter Wedding. They also have very strong Polish family history, so the term “Polock Party” became second nature throughout the day.

Heidi and Kelly really put an emphasis on making their guests comfortable and wanted them to have as much fun as possible. All the way from providing blankets and a hot coffee station to customized drinking gloves (very Wisconsin-esque) to an on-site barbeque feast, there was nothing but love and smiles all around the barn. They even put the Wisconsin Badgers playoff football game up on a big screen.

About the Big Day

It was unseasonably warm in Wisconsin for their December wedding (over 50 degrees!) so we took advantage of the still green grass and rustic vines of the vineyard for photo opportunities. We were also able to do their first look outside underneath the corn silo. To top it all off, right before the ceremony started, the most incredibly colored sunset occurred! Heidi and Kelly had been dreaming of a sunset like this on their wedding day and I am so glad we were able to capture it (but yes, those colors you see were real life).

The Special and Unique Touches

Along with their families, all of the decor (including the bouquets and lighted ceremony arch) was DIY’d by Heidi and Kelly. The centerpieces featured beer growlers from breweries the pair have visited together throughout their relationship. Their celebrant even carried their beer “bible” (as the two call it) for the ceremony – it features information on all of their favorite brews. The wine bottles (spray painted rose gold) were from glasses at wineries they have shared.

About the Colors and Details

Their colors were focused around rose gold metallic (Kelly is a big Rosé fan) and they ended their evening by cutting their favorite doughnuts from a local bakery. These two really do have hearts of (Rosé) gold! For their families and certainly for one another (I had a hard time getting a photo where they weren’t kissing).
